Vacancy Procedure Committee
Convener plus 6 members to deal with all matters concerning vacant charges. The Vacancy Procedure Committee is appointed by Presbytery to assist vacant congregations in applying the Vacancy Procedure Act (Act VIII of 2003 as amended). The VPC designates an Interim Moderator for the vacant charge and appoints an Advisory Committee from its number to meet with, advise, encourage and otherwise assist the vacant congregation until a new Minister has been inducted. The VPC also deals with committees of other Presbyteries upon translation of ministers across Presbytery bounds, so as to facilitate the timeous induction of Ministers in vacant charges.
